For Clara & Ben celebrating with friends and family was a key part of the day for both of them – they had people who have come from near and far to join them on their special day. When they were both talking about what they wanted for their wedding, the idea of extended family came up heavily for them. All of their suppliers were people they know well or were personal recommendations from our closest friends and family and it’s how I ended up being their wedding photographer.

Getting ready

The bride hired an airbnb with her bridesmaids. It was a very calm morning with only a few people around. There was no chaos and everything went according to schedule. Big tip – always try to keep the area where you are getting ready clean, keep all the bags, make up, spare clothes etc in one corner and you will have beautiful images like these!

Ceremony & Speeches

Ben & Clara explored many options for locations to get married, but in the end they chose for it to be at Ben’s mother’s home. This meant a lot to both of them. Since they’ve been together they have spent countless days there and the idea that they will get married on home soil felt important. Ben & Clara chose to have their ceremony hosted by a celebrant and also hired a wonderful wedding planner who helped put their dreams into reality.

Food & Drink were the most important elements of the day for the couple. Lots of care and attention had gone into designing these particular aspects.

The speeches started before the meal, in the same area the ceremony took place. The guests then moved inside the marquee for a sit down meal that was prepared by the grooms longterm friend.

Couple portraits

We didn’t get much time for couple portraits before it started to get dark but we sure made the most of it! These two are so in love it was so easy to photograph them!

Reception

Clara & Ben’s first dance was a ‘moment’ – they wanted to do something fun and energetic for their first dance and all the guests quickly joined in. The couple were both looking forward to the wedding planning being over! Having a party, getting past the first dance, and then not having a wedding to plan anymore!
