From a Photographer’s Perspective

From my perspective, Cripps Barn simply makes my job a joy. You can feel how much the team genuinely care about the couples they’re looking after.

Nothing ever feels panicked or rushed, even when plans shift, and that sense of calm spreads to everyone else – including me.

I love how the spaces are designed to keep the day flowing naturally. I can borrow a couple for a few minutes to capture something meaningful against the Cotswold stone or in the woodland glade, and have them straight back with their friends before anyone even notices they’ve gone.

Because couples feel so relaxed and supported here, what I end up photographing isn’t posed or performed; it’s real. Laughter, emotion, and those quiet, candid moments – all of it just happens naturally.

Photo Opportunities at Cripps Barn

As a wedding photographer who’s worked at Cripps Barn multiple times, I can honestly say it’s a joy to photograph. There are so many lovely little pockets across the barn, gardens and ffields.

The Main Stone Barn

The interior of the barn is a favourite for capturing romantic, intimate moments thanks to its rustic textures and atmospheric lighting.

The Terrace and Fire Pits

The vast glass and timber doors provide a modern contrast to the stone barn in the background.

The Woodland Glade and Oak Pavilion

Surrounded by mature trees and seasonal greenery that filters soft sunlight.

The Surrounding Fields

Offers a quiet, rural atmosphere away from the main celebration area.

A few insider tips…

  • Embrace the blue hour by the fire pits: The contrast of the amber glow from the terrace bonfires against a deep, twilight sky creates a cinematic, high-end look that feels far more intimate than midday shots.
  • The Natural “Softbox”: The massive glass and timber doors act as a giant natural light source, flooding the interior with soft, flattering light. Even on moody or rainy days, these doors allow for bright, unposed candids that stay true to the barn’s soulful character.
  • A quick five minute walk into the surrounding meadows offers an endless photo opportunities. It is the perfect spot for wide angle landscape portraits that capture all of Cotswolds beauty.

“Ania, we are completely obsessed with our photos! We had such a gorgeous evening pouring over all the little details you captured- it really felt like reliving the day all over again.

We can’t thank you enough for immortalising the day and all the emotion that came with it in such stunning moments. We’ll love them forever!! “

QUESTIONS

I pride myself on providing the best quality photographs and editing for all of my couples and edit every single photo individually, so typically it will be around 8 weeks for your online gallery. Don’t worry though – I’m going to send you a little preview of around 20-30 photos shortly after the wedding.

While I may have photographed at similar venues in the past, most of the weddings I cover are at new locations. And actually, that’s a good thing!

Approaching a new venue with a fresh pair of eyes allows me to get more creative and capture unique photos tailored to your wedding day.
If I haven’t photographed at your venue before, I’ll take the time to do research beforehand. I’ll look at photos and videos of the location, familiarise myself with the layout, and scout out potential photo locations.

These are very important – it’s not often you get to have all your loved ones in one place! I always ensure my clients consider having formal group shots as part of their day. I recommend that you create a list with a maximum of eight group shots to make sure they don’t take up too much time.

My full day coverage starts from £2000. This usually begins around two hours before the ceremony and runs through until a few songs after the first dance, so the story of the day is properly covered, not rushed. I also offer bespoke hourly packages if you’re planning something smaller or shorter and want coverage tailored exactly to what you need.

Of course! During your wedding day, I will work discreetly, blending in with your guests to capture candid and natural moments. I will give you gentle directions to help you feel more comfortable and confident in front of the camera. My goal is to make you feel at ease and let you enjoy your special day. I want you to feel like I’m a friend who was there to capture your memories, not just a photographer.

Once you’ve decided you’d like me to photograph your wedding, I’ll send over a contract and ask for a £400 deposit for full day coverage to secure your date. The remaining balance is then due 30 days before your wedding. From there, everything is all booked in and we can start planning your day in a relaxed, stress free way.
